UE forces a rubber match against Tams

UE’s Paul Lee driving to the baseline against FEU’s Christian Manalo

University of the East Red Warriors pulled off a win at the expense of the Far Eastern University at the start of the Final Four at the Araneta Coliseum Saturday. The Warriors capitalized on the absence of FEU’s Andy Barroca who was removed from the team for good. UE’s Paul Lee buried 14 points – including four triples – to cap the Warriors’ 16-5 closing salvo from a 68-69 deficit. He provided the spark needed by the Warriors in the closing minutes, to end with an emphatic 84-74 triumph over the Tamaraws hence forging a rubber match on Thursday. UE has to beat the FEU Tamaraws twice before they could march on to the finals.
