La Salle pushes FEU to the limit

DLSU Lady Spikers worked hard in Game 2 of the finals of the 71st UAAP Volleyball tournament and successfully defeated the FEU Tamaraws in four hard fought sets (17-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18) thus forcing a rubber match on March 8, Sunday 2 pm at the Arena. Jaqueline Alarca, Stephanie Mercado, and the rest of the La Salle team played with no fear and didn't back down albeit FEU seemed to close in the third and fourth sets. La Salle's team captain Manilla Santos break down in tears after the game for she thought that it was their last game.

Cherry Vivas, Rachel Daquis and Mica Morada's attacks were able to answer by the DLSU squad in terms of digging and blocking department. Mercado of La Salle had 16 digs and Manilla Santos had 14; and both Michelle Datuin and Charleen Abigail Cruz had 5 blocks. The coaching staff of La Salle led by its veteran head coah, Ramil De Jesus might have reviewed the tape of Game 1 where their flaws have certainly outnumbered their attacks. FEU on the other hand didn't let the injured Shaira Gonzales to play in the whole game to the advantage of the DLSU team.
